I was going through a career change and needed a new Dentist in the area to get my teeth taken care of before I lapsed insurance in between jobs. Proud Smiles was able to fit me in within a week of calling for my annual cleaning and exam. The appointment time was convenient (over my lunch break) and they truly took the time to make me feel comfortable and knowledgeable about what was going on with my teeth.
I had been to a previous dentist in the Buckhead area six months back and felt like they rushed me through my appointments and had done a bad job with my fillings. After my initial exam and cleaning Dr. Paulen not only explained, but showed me with a special dental camera what was going on with the aliment of my teeth and how it was contributing to my migraines. We explored options for immediate fixes and then preventive ones that we could tackle longer-term when I was more established in my new job. I was due for some fillings (to repair the work that the other dentist had made six months earlier) and she suggested some cosmetic work to help align my teeth and loosen my jaw muscles which are chronically tight and lead to migraines. They were able to fit me in later that day for my fillings and cosmetic repair!
By 5:30 pm I was back at Proud Smiles and out the door by 7 pm feeling fabulous with less tension in my jaw and my cavities taken care of. Dr. Paulen and her team made sure to take excellent care of me and in my unusually stressful day (of resigning from a job and accepting a new position), having dental work done was the most relaxing thing I had done all day.
During the procedure they made sure that I had noise-cancelling headphones on with relaxing music, sunglasses to shield my eyes from the harsh light, and some laughing gas to relax. They even offered me a blanket to stay warm.
I usually hate going to the dentist, but Dr. Paulen and her team have changed that for me. If you're looking for a very knowledgeable dentist in the area with excellent customer service turn to Proud Smiles, you will not be disappointed.
