I called to book my hair cut and highlights on a Thursday and asked if I could come in the next day (Friday) or the following Monday. She asked if I could come in that day and I said I couldn't, but I could Friday, or Monday. She made it seem like an inconvenience that I couldn't come in right away and said she could squeeze me in on Friday. You either have an opening or you don't, right? Saying you'll squeeze me in doesn't make me feel like I'll be getting the stylists full time and attention.
Friday arrives and I receive a call 25 minutes before my appointment (just as I was leaving) asking if I could come in 15 minutes later so that the stylist would be able to make sure she would give me exactly what I wanted. How does me coming in later insure I get exactly what I want for my hair? Either way, I said it was not a problem and I arrived shortly before 1. The facility seemed nice and the lady at the front desk asked if I wanted anything to drink, which I appreciated. I proceeded to wait 20 minutes before my stylist, Samara, called me back, which was 45 minutes after my original appointment.
Samara was nice, asked what I wanted and we discussed doing balayage, then I said a haircut. She did the balayage and and gave me a nice arm and hand massage after adding toner and rincing my hair.
She then tells me that I wasn't scheduled for a haircut and asks if I could come back the next morning. Again, I understand, even though I have a nursing baby at home and getting out to get my hair done once is a feat, let alone twice.
Samara said we would have a little time the next day if i wanted to tweak the balayage a bit. When I came back the next morning she didn't say anything about the Balayage, didn't even ask if I liked it, she went straight to cutting my hair. It didn't take her long, 15 minutes maybe. She then proceeded to blow dry for the following 30 minutes or so. She really couldn't have cut my hair the day before??
So basically, I accommodated them while in return I had to pay for a full balayage that doesn't have the full effect because the light tip ends needed to be cut off, I paid for toner for long hair length instead of medium, and I had to make two separate trips to do all of that. I should mention that I have a nursing baby at home so getting out by myself once is a feat, let alone twice.
They were not very apologetic about the scheduling mix up (they kind of made it seem like it was my fault, when it definitely was not), they were not very apologetic about the delay either. Nothing was done to rectify the situation and I didn't feel like my time was valued.
I'm debating if I will go back or not, despite all the mix ups. Samara did a good job with my hair, but it would look much better if scheduling would have been done correctly and my hair would have been cut first.
