As I had recently moved I was looking for a new dentist that was closer than the 30 mile drive of my previous dentist. I reviewed my insurance carriers list and discovered Downtown Phoenix Dental was a mere 1000' away, per Google Maps! I got on the phone and spoke to Robin. She sent me a link to fill out my forms on line. This was very nice. We emailed back and forth prior to the appointment date and Robin ensured I had my pre-dental meds. On the day I arrived, I noticed the area where patients are taken is open to the waiting room. I am not sure I cared for that, I don't really want someone out there knowing that I am the person whinning and crying. My mind is not made up on that area yet. My dental hygienist, Laurie was aggressive but very skilled and did not cause me any pain. I am a real big sissy. She did an excellent job, particularly with the sonic blaster they use, you know what I mean. She did not give me any goggles that I had to wear. She did not try to up-sell me any other services. No special laser treatment that insurance does not pay, night retainers, etc. She did not scold me about my brushing habits. This was very refreshing and I really appreciated her chair-side manner. I was tired of the heavy sales pitches from previous hygienist and had I received that I would not have returned. Excellent job Laurie! The dentist Ben, had previously introduced himself while I was in the waiting area. I thought that was nice. When he came in to go over my 62 years of mouthal (I just made that term up) abuse, he was cool, kind, and collected. He observed I had old silver fillings but did not push anything on me. His attitude was, if everything is working just go with it until it doesn't anymore. Now isn't that a refreshing attitude. Finally a dentist I, and you can enjoy and respect. I will be returning to this group and I believe my wife is going to also as she was there watching the whole thing go down. Very good wife. You should give this group a try, I did, and I am very happy with them!
